The rural-urban migration, has a long history and this issue shows the dynamism of society. However, excessive migration and evacuation of the villages of skillful workforce is one of the socio-economic problems of rural community in the country. Development literature in developing countries shows that rural - urban migration has many negative effects on both the origin and destination region. Hence, during the past decades, in order to understand these consequences and find ways to reduce these consequences a lot of effort has been made, but unfortunately, due to lack of a strategic and integrated vision, these efforts were not successful. According to strategic perspective, with an emphasis on sustainable development, one of the ways to reduce rural-urban migration is to stabilize the life quality of villagers. This stabilization leads to equality and maintaining cultural diversity, increasing the sense of community and citizenship, access to quality and increasing the quality of life and any changes in economic activities. All of these factors improve the quality of life. In the present paper, using Swat technique, the internal strength and weakness points, opportunities and external threats outside the rural settlements of Koohsar region in the central part of Hashtrood city has been explained with an integrated vision and strategies for solving immigration issues in the surveyed villages are expressed. Research results show that considering the internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) aspects, the aggressive strategy is the most effective strategy to reduce rural - urban migration.
